A little this, a little that

Wow, what a week. Gunther's birthday, extra work came in, knitting classes, two new knitting students, and the newsletter, last week was crazy, but fun. I also started a new project. The bag below. It's the Vintage Bubble Bag from the Pursenalities.

Of course I'm not making it like the one in the picture. Following knitting directions isn't something I'm good at. LOL. I have the best intentions when I start though. ;-) This bag I'm making it in black and purple with Pattons Classic wool. I still have to buy the yarn for the Oh Bag Me KAL bag. Hopefully Tuesday I'll get it.

The cotton rug is almost done. I have about 5 more inches to finish on it and then it will be ready for the Guest bath. I was going to use it in mine, but I thought I would redecorate the Guest bath, it's been awhile and it needs some color and face lift.

My big goal for this week it to gather up all my left over yarn and start making scarves to give away this Fall and Winter. I have two medium size boxes of yarn scraps that will make some beautiful simple scarves, possibly some children's hats to match. A few of the local shelters are all ready expecting to be over flowing with needs according to the news last night so I want to get a head start on this project.

Another biggie. For those of you who show dogs or have been involved in showing know that your breed's Specialty Show is a big deal. The Great Dane Club of the Mid South is having their Specialty show in September and I've been asked to make some knit items with great Dane motifs for the silent auction. It will be here before I know it, so today and tomorrow are the planning stages and then we'll go from there. I'm pretty excited about it.

I hope that those of you who are going through rough times right now, can find peace in your knitting and with your knitting friends. Several of you have been on my mind lately and though all of us have "things" in life we have to face and go through, having support through those times is priceless.

Sounds like you've been busy. The bag is cute. I'd like to see your take on it. Be proud that you don't always follow the directions. That's what creativity is, right?
