I'm Back

We just got back, and before I unpack I wanted to get the photo of my 1st cousin who won the bidding war for the shawl. Gaynelle is a professional seamstress, but cannot knit. She said that it's an amazing gift to be able to knit. Of course she makes sewing look so easy. But, she said that when she seen the shawl at the beginning of the reunion, she was determined to get it no matter what. $85.00 later she had it around her shoulders.

Doesn't she look happy? She is one of my favorite cousins. I don't see her often because she lives in Michigan. We stay in touch with email, but it was so much fun seeing her. She brought a quilt that she made for the reunion auction made out of her favorite colors. It was breath taking.

How are you doing? Picked out a shawl pattern yet? (smile)

Well, I did knit a shawl...sort of! It started out as a kerchief scarf for me but ended up as a shawl for Noey! :) I'm working up my nerve to start the Eyelet Shapley Shawl. I have the pattern, I have the yarn....just need a little courage! My mom is a quilter. Isn't it amazing what they can do with fabric?

Wendy,
The reunion was pretty much what I expected, but this was the first year I knitted an item for the auction. Watching the bidding war was the highlight of the day. LOL. Let me know how your reunion goes.
